We’ve played Pro Clubs every year since FIFA 14 and ran the PRO11 PC league from 2017 to 2019. These are the 25 tips we’d give any club starting EA FC 27, grouped by topic. Each one is short and links to the full guide or tool if you want the detail.
Getting started
1. Go to the Clubhouse and meet Dybala
Clubs is no longer a menu option. In FC 27 it lives in The Grounds: finish the tutorial, walk to the Clubhouse (the house icon on the map) and meet Mentor Paulo Dybala to unlock Clubs. Our how to play Pro Clubs guide walks you through it, including how to invite friends through EA Connect.
2. Agree positions before anyone builds a Pro
Decide who plays where in your club first, then pick an archetype that fits the position: a striker build is wasted at centre-back. The short version is Shot Stopper in goal, Boss at CB, Marauder at full-back, Maestro in central midfield, Magician or Spark on the wing and Finisher up front. Our best archetypes for every position explains each pick.
3. Join more than one club
You can be in up to three clubs at once (My Club → Other → Switch Club). That’s handy if your main club can’t always get 11 players online: join a second club for the nights it’s quiet. Still looking for teammates? See how to find a Pro Clubs team.
4. Set a wide camera before your first match
The default camera hides runs and space. We play on Co-op, Custom, Height 20 and Zoom 0–4. It feels far away for a few matches, then you won’t go back. All the settings are in our camera settings guide.
Builds
5. Plan your Attribute Points before you spend them
The current cap is level 40 = 962 Attribute Points per archetype, and one Specialization (one attribute at 92, two at 90) can eat a third to over half of that. Map the whole build first in our Pro Clubs build planner, which tracks the caps and Specialization unlocks for you.
6. Choose your height for your AcceleRATE
To be Explosive you need to be 182 cm or shorter, with Agility 65+ and at least 10 above Strength, and Acceleration 80+. For Lengthy, 185 cm or taller is the safe line. Height and weight also change your starting stats, so test your numbers in the AcceleRATE calculator before you lock in a body.
7. A Specialization swaps your signature, it doesn’t add one
You get one Signature PlayStyle slot. Unlocking a Specialization lets you swap it for that Specialization’s PlayStyle+, free and reversible, but you never have both at once. Most players unlock the Specialization whose targets they want anyway. Every option, with AP costs, is in Pro Clubs Specializations.
8. Experiment, because respecs are free
All 13 archetypes are unlocked and resets cost nothing in FC 27, so a wrong build only costs you a match. Torn between two? Put them side by side in the archetype comparison: starting stats, caps, Specializations and what the top clubs use.
Tactics and teamwork
9. Set roles for the AI, not for the humans
FC IQ roles only steer AI players: human Pros ignore them. Spend your time on the positions the AI will fill, starting with the goalkeeper, and keep at least one AI midfielder on Defend if you have fewer than eight humans. Our best Pro Clubs tactics has safe role setups for every AI slot.
10. Pick your formation by how many humans you have
With 2–3 humans we’d play 4-2-3-1 so two AI holding midfielders keep the shape. With 6–8, attacking shapes such as 4-3-3 Attack or 4-2-2-2 work because humans cover the gaps. Put your humans in the spine first: striker, CAM or CM, and one centre-back. Picks for every squad size are in the best attacking formations.
11. Share tactics with a code
Clubs has five tactic slots and each tactic gets a 12-character share code. Import one under My Club → Tactics → Enter Tactics → Manage Tactics → Import. Use one slot for a safer setup you switch to when you’re ahead. Draw your setup first on our tactics board and send your club the link.
Defending
12. Jockey first, tackle second
Hold L2 / LT to stay between the attacker and your goal, and only tackle with ◯ / B when the ball is exposed. FC 27 gave manual defenders faster jockeying and a longer stand-tackle range, so patience pays. Shoulder challenges work side by side, not from behind. More in how to defend in Pro Clubs.
13. Don’t wait for the AI to win the ball
In FC 27 AI defenders hold position instead of tackling, and Team Press does nothing in your own third. If balls in behind keep beating you, drop the Line Height before you change shape. If you’re short of players, a back five (5-3-2 or 5-2-1-2) puts more AI bodies in the box. See the best defensive formations.
14. Save your sprint
Long-term fatigue is partly back in Clubs 11v11 since Title Update 1.0.1. A Pro who sprints every press or every overlap fades late in the match, and full-backs feel it most. Keep energy for recovery runs. The background is in FC 27 Pro Clubs new features.
Attacking
15. Re-trigger your runs
Triggered runs now stop after a limited distance, so call the run again instead of waiting for the ball. As a striker, we’d stay on the last defender’s shoulder and hold the run until your CAM looks up: pace plus timing beats pace alone. More striker habits in the best striker build.
16. Wingers: attack the full-back early
Because AI defenders no longer tackle for you, the best chance on the wing is the one-on-one before the cover arrives. Build slowly, then burst when the gap opens; constant sprinting kills your close control. Builds and habits for both wing archetypes are in the best winger build.
17. Real pace beats labels and PlayStyles
EA reduced the impact of AcceleRATE and toned down Quick Step and Rapid before launch, so your actual Acceleration and Sprint Speed count for more than your type or PlayStyle. No Pro can go past 95 Sprint Speed, and only the Spark reaches 99 Acceleration. See how that compares with the fastest players in FC 27.
Goalkeeping
18. Start with the Shot Stopper and never dive early
The Shot Stopper is the community default, and you can switch to Sweeper Keeper for free if your team plays a high line. In goal, wait for the shooter to commit, rush out late rather than early, and hold L1 / LB for auto positioning when in doubt. Controls and habits are in how to play as a goalkeeper.
19. Build your keeper as tall as the archetype allows
The Sweeper Keeper goes up to 200 cm (6’7”) and the Shot Stopper to 197 cm (6’6”), and the top 100 clubs use exactly that: their human keepers have a median height of 197 cm. Heights for every other position are in best height and weight in Pro Clubs.
Progression, Amps and Coins
20. Stay in your position to level faster
AXP follows your match rating, and in competitive games that’s mostly your Role Rating, which judges you on what your position is supposed to do. Drifting out of position hurts it. Play the archetype you want to level, because AXP only goes to the active one. Every AXP source is in how to get skill points.
21. Level a second archetype to 10
Masteries give +1 to two attributes on every archetype you play once an archetype reaches level 10 (and another +1 at level 30). Time on a second position makes your main Pro better too. The full Mastery list is in max overall rating and attribute points.
22. Save Amps for League and Playoff matches
Amps are temporary boosts that last a set number of matches; the ones in the Clubs Store when we checked lasted 6 matches and cost 12,500 Coins or 200 FC Points. They don’t apply (or use up a match) in Kickabouts, and they can’t push an attribute above your archetype’s cap, so don’t put one on a stat that’s already maxed. More in Pro Clubs Amps and consumables.
23. Play Club Tournaments and Playoffs
EA says Club Tournaments and Playoffs give bigger rewards than regular matches, and every match earns AXP and Grounds Coins. Some tournaments use House Rules like Long Range or Survival, which need a different plan. Tips for each rule are in Club Tournaments and House Rules.
Connection
24. Play wired, and don’t use a VPN
Ping, jitter and packet loss matter far more than download speed. Play on a cable (or 5 GHz Wi-Fi), stop downloads and streams while you play, and turn off any VPN. EA’s own fixes, in order, are in how important internet speed is for gaming.
25. Accept the cross-play prompt and re-invite after every match
PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC play together, Switch 2 is separate. Declining the cross-play prompt when you join a Clubs lobby can leave you on an endless loading screen, and after a Clubhouse, Drop-In or Rush match you may land in a different Grounds world, so re-invite through EA Connect. More fixes in Clubs crossplay not working.

FAQ
What is the best tip for Pro Clubs beginners?
Stay in your position. Your AXP depends on your Role Rating, and an empty position is the easiest way for the other team to score. Pick your position with your club first, then build for it.
How do I get better at Pro Clubs fast?
Play with the same group, agree positions and a tactic, and use a wide camera such as Co-op. For your Pro, plan your build in the build planner and level a second archetype to 10 for the Mastery boosts.
Can you play Pro Clubs alone?
Yes. 11v11 Drop-In matches you with other players, the AI fills every position no human takes in a League match, and small-sided games and Kickabouts in The Grounds also earn AXP.
Are Amps pay-to-win?
Not in the FUT sense. They’re temporary, they can’t go above your archetype’s caps, and you can earn them by playing. Signature Amps that give a PlayStyle you haven’t unlocked are the one real paid edge.
