Club Tournaments are the biggest new way to compete in EA FC 27 Clubs: limited-time 11v11 events where your club plays other clubs, sometimes under special House Rules. This guide covers what EA has confirmed, how each House Rule plays, and what EA still hasn’t published.
What are Club Tournaments in FC 27?
EA calls them “the expansion of Live Events with Club Tournaments”. In FC 26, Clubs Live Events were brackets you could enter solo or with friends, with progress tracked per player. In FC 27 they’re 11v11 competitions for your club, a third way to play other clubs alongside League and Playoffs.
What EA has confirmed:
- 11v11, club against club. EA’s own guide calls them “Clubs-only 11v11 stadium tournaments”.
- Every event is different. EA says tournaments “can feature different numbers of rounds, match rules, and rewards”, and each one has “its own House Rules, entry requirements, Objectives, and rewards”.
- They rotate. EA describes “Tournaments with rotating rulesets, rewards, and rounds” across the year.
- Bigger rewards. “Limited time experiences like Club Tournaments and Playoffs will offer greater rewards.”
The first one was a Classic Stadium 11v11 Event that ran from Early Access into the worldwide launch. Season 1’s European Nights works differently: you play small-sided Live Events in the districts and “earn your way into” the European Nights 11v11 Stadium Club Tournament, which awards UEFA Champions League player-themed Amps (Zidane, Maldini, Bale), emotes and Club kits. EA hasn’t given dates for it.
Where to find Club Tournaments
- Walk into the Clubhouse on the Terrace (the house icon on the map). It’s the same building where you play League and Playoff matches.
- Pick 11v11 Live Event Tournaments. EA Help lists it next to “League and Playoff matches” and the Store.
- Open the event details before you queue. EA Help says to “check the event details before joining to see its rules and requirements”. That screen shows the House Rule, the entry requirements, how many rounds there are and what you can win.
Out in The Grounds, a timer icon on a location marks an active Live Event. Don’t confuse Club Tournaments with Rush Live Event Tournaments: those are matchmade Rush events at the Zeiza stadium, not 11v11 club matches. Our guide to The Grounds shows where everything is.
House Rules explained
EA has named six House Rules for Club Tournaments but hasn’t described how they work in Clubs. The same rules have existed in Kick-Off and Ultimate Team Friendlies since FIFA 19–20, so the descriptions below come from those versions. Expect the Clubs version to work the same way, but read the event screen: EA can change the details.
| House Rule | How it works | What it rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Mystery Ball | Every time the ball goes out of play, it comes back as a random “mystery ball” that boosts the team in possession (passing, shooting, dribbling, speed or everything) and can be worth more than one goal | Quick restarts and attacking straight away |
| King of the Hill | A zone appears on the pitch. Keep the ball inside it to raise the value of your next goal; leave and the value drops back | Patient possession in the zone |
| No Rules | No fouls, no offsides, no bookings | Physical defending, runs in behind |
| Headers and Volleys | Only goals scored with a header or a volley count | Crossers, tall strikers, Acrobatic and Precision Header |
| Survival | Every time a team scores, it loses a random outfield player (never the keeper) | Defending a lead, then counter-attacking |
| Long Range | Goals from outside the box count double; inside the box they count once | Long Shots, Power Shot, Finesse Shot |
Schedule and entry
EA hasn’t published a Club Tournaments calendar. What we know as of 8 October 2026:
| Event | When | Entry |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Stadium 11v11 Event | Early Access (18 Sep) to worldwide launch (25 Sep 2026) | Its own entry requirements (EA didn’t list them) |
| European Nights 11v11 Stadium Club Tournament | Season 1, dates not published | Earned through small-sided Live Events in the districts |
| Screaming Grounds (Halloween) | Later in Season 1 | Halloween Live Events; EA hasn’t said whether it includes an 11v11 tournament |
| Season 1 ends | 22 Oct 2026 | – |
Squad requirements
EA only says each tournament has its own “entry requirements”. It hasn’t said how many humans you need, whether there’s a minimum archetype level, or whether you can use AI to fill gaps. For comparison, FC 26 Live Events were knockout brackets of up to four rounds, a loss sent you back to round 1, and you could play with at least two humans plus AI. Some FC 26 events also required a minimum archetype level or a specific position group. Don’t assume FC 27 uses the same rules: check the event details before you gather the squad.
Rewards and AXP
- AXP and Grounds Coins from every match, like any other game in The Grounds. Your AXP still depends on your match rating, so play your own position.
- Greater rewards than regular matches, according to EA. That’s the main reason to play them with the archetype you’re levelling (see how to earn AXP and Attribute Points).
- Event rewards set per tournament. European Nights gives UCL player-themed Amps, emotes and Club kits (our guide to Amps and consumables explains how Amps work).
- Objectives. EA says tournaments come with their own Objectives, so check the Objectives tab on the World Map before you start.
EA hasn’t published how much extra AXP a tournament match gives, or a reward table for any event.
Club Tournaments vs Playoffs vs League
| League | Playoffs | Club Tournaments | |
|---|---|---|---|
| When | All season | End of each League season | Limited-time events |
| Format | 11v11, points for wins and draws | 11v11, a set number of matches (based on past games) | 11v11, rounds vary by event |
| Rules | Normal match rules | Normal match rules | Normal rules or a House Rule |
| Counts for | Promotion and demotion between divisions | Your division’s Playoff rewards | The event’s own rewards and Objectives |
| Rewards | AXP, Coins, Club Objectives | Greater rewards (EA) | Greater rewards (EA), event Amps and cosmetics |
If your club only has time for one thing in a week, keep playing League matches: that’s where your division and Elite Objectives come from. Play a Club Tournament when one is live and your squad is online together, because it pays more for the same time. See Clubs Leagues and Playoffs explained for how seasons work.
Tips for each House Rule
- 01Mystery Ball: restart fast. The boost belongs to the team in possession, so take throw-ins and goal kicks quickly before the opponent sets up. Watch the ball type: a shooting ball means shoot early.
- 02King of the Hill: keep it simple in the zone. Short passes between three players in the zone raise your goal value faster than a hopeful dribble. When the other team holds the zone, press it with two players instead of the whole team.
- 03No Rules: tackle hard, but stay in shape. You can’t foul, so a Boss or Disruptor can attack every duel. With no offside, one striker should stay high all game.
- 04Headers and Volleys: build from the flanks. Crosses and cut-backs into a tall striker are your best route. A Target with Precision Header+, or Target+ for Acrobatic+, is the build for this rule.
- 05Survival: score, then defend. Every goal costs you a player, so a one-goal lead with more men on the pitch is often worth more than a second goal. Keep your quickest runner for counters.
- 06Long Range: shoot from 20+ yards. Bring Long Shots and Power Shot or Finesse Shot. Your midfielders matter more than your striker, and defenders must close down outside the box.
FAQ
Are Club Tournaments the same as Playoffs?
No. Playoffs end each League season and decide your division rewards. Club Tournaments are separate limited-time events with their own rules and rewards. EA says both give greater rewards than regular matches.
Do you need a full squad for Club Tournaments?
EA hasn’t said. Each tournament has its own entry requirements, shown in the event details in the Clubhouse. In FC 26, Live Events needed at least two humans plus AI, but that may not apply in FC 27.
Which House Rules are in FC 27 Clubs?
EA has named six: Mystery Ball, King of the Hill, No Rules, Headers and Volleys, Survival and Long Range. Each tournament may use one of them or normal rules.
Do Club Tournaments give more AXP?
Yes. EA says Club Tournaments and Playoffs offer greater rewards than regular matches, and every match earns AXP and Grounds Coins. EA hasn’t published the exact bonus.
When is the next Club Tournament?
EA hasn’t published a schedule. Season 1’s European Nights event leads into an 11v11 Stadium Club Tournament, and Season 1 ends on 22 October 2026. Check the Clubhouse for the live event and its countdown.
