The Creator is the Andrés Iniesta archetype: the player who sees the run before anyone else and plays the ball into it. In EA FC 27 its Signature PlayStyle is Incisive Pass, it plays CAM or CM, and in the top 100 clubs it gets more assists per match than any other archetype, strikers included.
This guide covers the best FC 27 Creator build: height and weight, how to make it Explosive, which Specialization to unlock, the attributes that are cheap (and surprisingly expensive) for this archetype, and how it compares to the Maestro.
What the Creator is in FC 27
Dexerto describes the FC 27 Creator as a visionary passer built around through balls that split a back line. The signature, Incisive Pass, becomes Incisive Pass+ as you level the archetype: more accurate through balls with better weight, which is what turns a striker’s run into a one-on-one.
The Creator has the best Passing ceiling of all 13 archetypes (a 97.5 category average in Pro Clubs HQ’s data). Where it loses to the Maestro is all-round play: lower defensive caps, and Short Passing sits in the most expensive cost tier for this archetype.
Creator or Maestro?
| Creator | Maestro | |
|---|---|---|
| Signature | Incisive Pass | Pinged Pass |
| Best position | CAM | CM (also CAM, CDM) |
| Cheapest Specialization | Creator+ (about 308 AP) | Heartbeat (about 455 AP) |
| Cheap stats | Agility, Long Passing, Ball Control, Reactions | Short Passing, Interceptions, Def. Awareness |
| Expensive stats | Short Passing, Dribbling, pace | Agility, Dribbling, pace |
| Top-100 assists per match | 0.75 | 0.33 |
| Pick it if | ◑ You play the final ball and nothing else | ✔ You want to do everything |
Most outlets pick the Maestro for central midfield, and so do we in our best CAM build. The Creator is the better choice when your club has runners: a pacy Finisher or Spark who wants the ball in behind. If you’d rather dribble past people than pass around them, look at the Magician instead. For the full picture, see our Maestro build and best archetypes for every position.
Best height and weight for the Creator
The Creator can be 162–188 cm (5’4”–6’2”) and 65–85 kg (143–187 lbs). It starts at 175 cm and 75 kg, which is Controlled.
| Recommended | Why | |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 5′7″–5′8″ (170–172 cm) | Top-100 clubs play Creators at a median 171 cm |
| Weight | 65 kg (143 lbs) | The lightest allowed: more Acceleration and Agility |
| AcceleRATE | Explosive | Cheap Agility makes it easy to reach |
| Skill Moves | 4 ★ | Starts at 2★; 4★ costs about 30 AP, 5★ about 65 AP |
| Weak Foot | 4 ★ minimum | Starts at 3★; 4★ costs about 25 AP, 5★ about 65 AP |
The data agrees. In Pro Clubs HQ’s build data the most-built Creator is 170 cm and 65 kg, and it’s the only midfield archetype where Explosive is the most common AcceleRATE. EA’s match data for the top 100 clubs puts the median Creator at 171 cm, with the middle half between 166 and 175 cm. Dexerto’s build goes a bit taller (5’10”, 163 lbs), which is fine if you want more Strength in duels.

The Creator+ Number 10 is the build to start with. Creator+ is cheaper than any Specialization on the Maestro, Magician, Spark, Finisher or Target, and two of its targets (Vision and Long Passing) are stats a CAM wants anyway. Long Passing is in the Creator’s cheapest cost tier, so it costs almost nothing to reach 90. Crossing is the only target you wouldn’t buy otherwise. If you put every point into the targets, you can unlock Creator+ around level 16, and you still have about 650 AP for everything else.
The Architect Playmaker is for the player who takes your club’s free kicks and corners. Its targets are set-piece stats (Crossing 92, Free Kick Accuracy 90, Shot Power 90), and Dead Ball+ is the swap. It costs about 86 AP more than Creator+, and the Creator’s own Mastery adds Free Kick Accuracy. Only one player per club needs this build, so agree who takes the dead balls first.
What about Sniper? It gives Power Shot+, but it’s the most expensive Creator Specialization at about 550 AP because Finishing is a top-tier cost. If you want to shoot from midfield, a Magician or a Crasher Maestro does it more cheaply.
Creator Specializations: Creator+, Architect or Sniper?
| Specialization | PlayStyle+ | Requirements | AP from base | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator+ | Whipped Pass+ | Vision 92 · Crossing 90 · Long Pass 90 | about 308 | Every Creator (default pick) |
| Architect | Dead Ball+ | Crossing 92 · FK Acc. 90 · Shot Power 90 | about 394 | Your club’s set-piece taker |
| Sniper | Power Shot+ | Shot Power 92 · Finishing 90 · Long Shots 90 | about 550 | Long-range shooters (expensive) |
Unlocking a Specialization lets you swap your signature slot from Incisive Pass+ to its PlayStyle+, and back again for free. You never get both. Almost every Creator keeps Incisive Pass+, since it’s the reason to pick the archetype; Creator+ is worth unlocking for its stats and for the option of Whipped Pass+ if you drift wide. To compare them with every other archetype’s options, see all Pro Clubs Specializations.
Creator attribute caps and AP costs
The Creator can reach 99 in Vision, Curve, Long Shots, Attacking Positioning, Agility, Reactions, Free Kick Accuracy and Penalties. Short Passing, Long Passing, Ball Control, Dribbling and Composure cap at 96. Its pace caps at 92, a little higher than the Maestro’s 90.
The interesting part is the cost tiers. Each archetype has key attributes that cost fewer AP per point, and the Creator’s are unusually useful:
| Attribute | Start → cap | AP to max | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agility | 72 → 99 | ~233 | ✔ Cheapest tier: buy it early |
| Long Passing | 75 → 96 | ~136 | ✔ Cheapest tier (90 for Creator+) |
| Ball Control | 75 → 96 | ~136 | ✔ Cheapest tier |
| Reactions | 75 → 99 | ~226 | ✔ Cheapest tier (Tiki Taka needs 80) |
| Vision | 75 → 99 | ~294 | ✔ High (92 for Creator+) |
| Composure | 72 → 96 | ~199 | ✔ High (First Touch needs 80) |
| Curve | 75 → 99 | ~294 | ◑ After the core |
| Crossing | 75 → 96 | ~254 | ◑ 90 for Creator+ only |
| Short Passing | 75 → 96 | ~332 | ✘ Most expensive tier for a Creator |
| Dribbling | 75 → 96 | ~332 | ✘ Expensive |
| Acceleration | 70 → 92 | ~249 | ◑ 80 for Explosive |
Agility is the Creator’s secret. It costs 3 AP per point in the 80s for a Creator and 10 for a Maestro, according to the community calculator. Players reported the same gap on the EA Forums. Raising a Creator’s Agility from 72 to 90 costs only about 72 AP. That’s why short, light Creators turn so sharply, and why Explosive comes easily.
Short Passing is the trap. It’s in the Creator’s most expensive tier, so don’t spend on it beyond what your PlayStyles need (Tiki Taka needs 75, which you already have; Pinged Pass needs 80).
Masteries: levelling the Creator to 10 gives +1 Free Kick Accuracy and +1 Vision to every archetype you play, and Pro Clubs HQ’s data adds another +1 Vision at level 30. If you main the Creator, a Maestro (Reactions, Ball Control) and a Magician (Curve, Acceleration) are the most useful archetypes to level to 10 on the side.
How to spend your Attribute Points by level
You get about 224 AP by level 10, 397 by level 20, 674 by level 30 and 962 by level 40. The Creator+ Number 10 path:
- Level 1–10: Reactions and Ball Control to 80 for Tiki Taka (both cheap), then Long Passing toward 90.
- Level 10–20: Vision to 92 and Crossing to 90 to unlock Creator+. Composure to 80 for First Touch.
- Level 20–30: Agility (cheap), Acceleration to 80 for Explosive, then Short Passing to 80 and Long Passing to 85 for Pinged Pass.
- Level 30–40: Ball Control and Reactions toward their caps, then Curve and Composure.
Try it first in the Build Planner (the cards above open with the targets preloaded), and see every starting value on the Creator archetype page. Resets are free in FC 27, so you can respec single attributes as you go.
PlayStyles for the Creator
You get one signature PlayStyle plus three regular slots, which unlock at levels 5, 15 and 40.
| PlayStyle | Unlock | Why a Creator wants it |
|---|---|---|
| Incisive Pass(+) | Signature | Through balls that beat the line |
| Tiki Taka | Reactions 80 · Ball Control 80 · Short Pass 75 | One-touch combinations around the box |
| First Touch | Composure 80 · Ball Control 75 | Turn cleanly between the lines |
| Pinged Pass | Long Pass 85 · Short Pass 80 | Fast passes into feet to change tempo |
| Finesse Shot | Vision 80 · Finishing 75 · Curve 80 | If you shoot from the edge of the box |
| Trickster | Acceleration 80 · Agility 75 · Dribbling 80 | If you beat players before passing |
Tiki Taka and First Touch go on every Creator. The last slot is Pinged Pass for a passer, or Finesse Shot if your club needs goals from you. Dexerto’s FC 27 Creator build runs Rapid and Trickster instead, which suits a Creator who carries the ball; note that EA slightly reduced Rapid’s dribbling speed boost in FC 27.
Through balls are more manual in FC 27. EA’s Gameplay Deep Dive says through passes now strictly follow your directional input, without the old assistance steering them into open lanes. That makes a Creator more skill-dependent than before: aim the pass where the runner is going, not at the defender.
The Creator in the top 100 clubs
We pulled the last 10 league matches of the top 100 clubs on EA’s leaderboard (967 matches, 1,059 players, 8 October 2026). The Creator is used by 7.7% of players and appears in 60 of the 100 clubs, almost always in midfield.
| Per match | Creator | Maestro | Magician | Finisher |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assists | 0.75 | 0.33 | 0.60 | 0.56 |
| Goals | 0.25 | 0.16 | 0.85 | 1.14 |
| Shots | 0.70 | 0.41 | 1.84 | 2.30 |
| Pass accuracy | 78% | 82% | 82% | 82% |
| Match rating | 7.61 | 7.69 | 7.49 | 7.79 |
| Median height | 171 cm | 172 cm | 171 cm | 173 cm |
The Creator’s 0.75 assists per match is the highest of any archetype. Its 78% pass accuracy is the lowest. That’s not a flaw: a Creator attempts the risky ball that a Maestro or Recycler wouldn’t, and some of them come off. If your club values possession above everything, you want a Maestro; if it wants chances, a Creator delivers more of them. Full breakdown on our Pro Clubs meta page.
Tips for playing the Creator
- 01Play the pass on the run, not after it. Incisive Pass+ is strongest when your striker is starting the run. Wait a second too long and he’s offside.
- 02Accept a lower pass accuracy. Your job is to create chances. A Creator who only passes sideways is a worse Maestro.
- 03Buy Agility, not Short Passing. Agility is in your cheapest cost tier and Short Passing in your most expensive.
- 04Pair with runners. A Creator needs a Finisher or Spark making runs in behind. Talk to them before kick-off.
For team shape, our attacking formations guide covers the 4-2-3-1 and two-striker systems where a Creator at CAM works best, and best defensive formations covers the shapes that protect a creative 10.
FAQ
What is the best Creator build in FC 27?
A 5’7” (170 cm), 65 kg Explosive Creator at CAM that keeps Incisive Pass+, uses Tiki Taka, First Touch and Pinged Pass, unlocks Creator+ (Vision 92, Crossing 90, Long Passing 90) first and then spends on Ball Control, Agility and Reactions.
What is the Creator’s Signature PlayStyle in FC 27?
Incisive Pass, which upgrades to Incisive Pass+ as you level the archetype. Its Specializations offer Whipped Pass+, Dead Ball+ or Power Shot+ as an optional swap.
Is the Creator better than the Maestro?
Not overall. The Maestro is the stronger all-rounder and the most used midfielder in the top 100 clubs. The Creator is better at one thing: creating chances. It averages 0.75 assists per match there against the Maestro’s 0.33.
Can the Creator be Explosive?
Yes, and easily. Agility is cheap for a Creator, so at 170 cm and 65 kg it meets the Agility rules straight away. You only need Acceleration 80 and a height of 182 cm or less.
Which Creator Specialization is cheapest?
Creator+, at about 308 AP from the starting values, according to community data. That’s cheaper than any Maestro, Magician, Spark, Finisher or Target Specialization. Architect costs about 394 AP and Sniper about 550 AP.
The Creator is the assist machine of FC 27 Clubs. Build it short and light so it turns quickly and stays Explosive, unlock Creator+ early, keep Incisive Pass+, and spend on Agility, Ball Control and Reactions, not Short Passing. Pair it with a striker who runs.
