The Spark is the Figo archetype: an explosive wide attacker who beats people with pace, then crosses or cuts inside. In EA FC 27 its Signature PlayStyle is Trickster, and it plays LW/RW and LM/RM. It has the highest Pace ceiling of any archetype, which makes it the easiest winger to pick up and run riot with.
This guide covers the best FC 27 Spark build: height and weight, how to be Explosive, which Specialization to unlock, PlayStyles, and how to spend 962 Attribute Points.
What the Spark is, and when to pick it
The Spark is built for one-on-ones and runs in behind. Its pace stats (Acceleration and Agility) cap at 99, Dribbling caps at 99 and is cheap, and its Mastery boosts Crossing and Dribbling. The catch: Acceleration, Agility and Sprint Speed get no discount on the Spark, so pace is expensive to buy.
Pick the Spark if:
- You want to stay wide, take on your full-back and get to the byline.
- Your club plays on the counter and needs someone to run in behind.
- You play LM/RM in a 4-4-2 and your job is to cross for a big striker (see our Target build).
Pick the Magician if you’d rather cut inside, combine and score. That’s the closest call in FC 27, and we break it down below. For the striker spot, the Finisher is the better choice. For every position, see the best archetypes.
What changed for the Spark in FC 27
- One Signature PlayStyle. In FC 26 the Spark had Rapid and Trickster. In FC 27 only Trickster is a signature (upgrading to Trickster+), so Rapid now takes a regular slot.
- Pace PlayStyles were toned down. EA reduced Quick Step’s speed boost while dribbling and accelerating, and slightly reduced Rapid’s. Raw Acceleration and Sprint Speed matter more than the PlayStyles.
- Off-Balance Dribbling is new: good dribblers can ride challenges and keep the ball under pressure.
- Crosses go into space more often rather than straight onto a player, so aim and power matter more.
- Masteries. Level 10 with the Spark gives +1 Crossing and +1 Dribbling to every archetype you play.
- Free respecs and max level 40 (962 AP). Every archetype is unlocked from the start.

PlayStyles
The Spark+ Speedster is the build Dexerto recommends for wingers (5’9”, Spark+, with Rapid, Technical and Trickster around Quick Step+). It’s expensive: Spark+ alone takes about 59% of your 962 AP. But those three stats are exactly what a Spark is for, so nothing is wasted.
The Joker Wide Crosser is the cheaper option for clubs that cross. Crossing is one of the Spark’s Mastery stats and Whipped Pass+ makes every cross “highly accurate”, faster and with more curve, plus driven crosses with “exceptional power”. Pair it with a tall Target and you have a plan.
Best height and weight for the Spark in FC 27
The Spark can be 162–188 cm (5’4”–6’2”) and 60–80 kg (132–176 lbs). Its default body is 175 cm and 70 kg, which starts Controlled. Shorter and lighter add Acceleration, Agility and Balance; taller and heavier add Strength and Jumping.
| Recommended | Why | |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 5′7″–5′9″ (170–175 cm) | More Agility and Acceleration, well under the Explosive limit |
| Weight | 60–65 kg (132–143 lbs) | The minimum weight makes Explosive easy |
| AcceleRATE | Explosive | Faster burst over the first few yards |
| Skill Moves | 5 ★ | You’re a winger with Trickster+ |
| Weak Foot | 4 ★ (5 ★ if you can spare it) | Lets you go both ways on your full-back |
The Spark is the most Explosive archetype in the community data: the most-built body is 175 cm and 60 kg, and 93% of Spark builds are Explosive. The top 100 clubs go slightly shorter, with a median height of 173 cm. The most-copied templates are Lamine Yamal (5’11”, Explosive), Rafael Leão (6’2”, Controlled) and Mohamed Salah (5’9”, Explosive).

Spark Specializations: Spark+, Joker or Ace?
| Specialization | PlayStyle+ | Unlock | AP from base | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spark+ | Quick Step+ | Agility 92 · Acceleration 90 · Sprint Speed 90 | ~571 | Pace wingers (default pick) |
| Joker | Whipped Pass+ | Crossing 92 · Att. Positioning 90 · Long Passing 90 | ~397 | Wide crossers, 4-4-2 midfielders |
| Ace | Chip Shot+ | Finishing 92 · Reactions 90 · Ball Control 90 | ~495 | Goal-first inside forwards |
Spark+ is the most expensive but buys the stats that make a Spark a Spark. Joker is the cheapest and the right pick if your job is to deliver crosses. Ace turns the Spark into a goalscorer; Finishing 92 alone costs about 274 AP because Finishing is expensive on this archetype. If goals are your priority, a Magician or a Finisher on the wing does it more cheaply. To compare them with every other archetype’s options, see all Pro Clubs Specializations.
Attribute caps and key attributes
| Attribute | Cap | AP to max | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acceleration | 99 | ~467 | ✔ 90 for Spark+ |
| Agility | 99 | ~467 | ✔ 92 for Spark+ |
| Sprint Speed | 95 | ~297 | ✔ 90 for Spark+ |
| Dribbling | 99 | ~226 | ✔ Cheap: first after Spark+ |
| Ball Control | 96 | ~254 | ✔ High |
| Crossing | 99 | ~374 | ◑ 92 for Joker |
| Finishing | 96 | ~389 | ◑ Expensive |
| Curve | 96 | ~136 | ◑ Cheap |
| Skill Moves 3★ → 5★ | 5 ★ | ~40 | ✔ Must have |
| Weak Foot 3★ → 5★ | 5 ★ | ~65 | ◑ 4★ minimum |
Spend order for the Spark+ Speedster:
- Acceleration to 80 right away so you’re Explosive.
- Spark+ targets: Agility 92, Acceleration 90, Sprint Speed 90 (about 571 AP).
- Skill moves to 5★ (about 40 AP) and Dribbling (cheap: about 65 AP to 90).
- That leaves about 285 AP. Put most of it into Ball Control and Balance, which feed the new Off-Balance Dribbling.
- Finish with Finishing, Crossing or Curve, depending on whether you score or assist.

PlayStyles for the Spark
You have the signature slot plus three regular slots at level 40. Requirements come from community data (Pro Clubs HQ).
- Trickster+ (signature): “more unique ground and flick Skill Moves” and “significantly more agile when strafe dribbling”, per EA.
- Quick Step (Acceleration 75, Sprint Speed 80, Stamina 80): faster acceleration during Explosive Sprint. Toned down in FC 27 but still useful. Note the Stamina requirement: the Spark starts at 65.
- Rapid (Acceleration 75, Sprint Speed 80, Dribbling 80): higher speed when sprint dribbling, fewer errors.
- Technical (Balance 80, Ball Control 75, Dribbling 80): faster Controlled Sprint and wide turns.
- Whipped Pass (Crossing 80, Long Pass 75): for the Joker build.
- Finesse Shot (Vision 80, Finishing 75, Curve 80): take it instead of Technical if you cut inside to shoot.
The Spark in the top 100 clubs
We analyzed EA’s public Clubs data for the top 100 clubs’ last 10 league matches (967 matches, 8 October 2026). The Spark and the Magician are almost perfectly tied for popularity:
| Stat | Spark | Magician |
|---|---|---|
| Players | 76 (7.2%) | 78 (7.4%) |
| Clubs using one | 46 of 100 | 46 of 100 |
| Match rating | 7.69 | 7.49 |
| Goals per game | 0.67 | 0.85 |
| Assists per game | 0.52 | 0.60 |
| Tackles per game | 1.28 | 1.51 |
| Median height | 173 cm (5′8″) | 171 cm |
The Magician scores and assists more, but the Spark gets the better match rating, and Spark players had the highest win rate of any archetype (84%). Top clubs win most of their games anyway, so read that as “good players pick it” rather than “it wins games”. About half the Sparks lined up in EA’s midfield group (LM/RM) and half as forwards, so it’s a genuine wide-midfield option too. The full breakdown is on our Pro Clubs meta page.
Spark or Magician?
Outlets split here. Dexerto picks the Spark for wingers. RealSport101 says “If you prefer pace, then pick Spark”, but expects the Magician to “edge out in the long run” as players get better. Our take:
- Spark if you run in behind, stay wide and cross, or play LM/RM.
- Magician if you cut inside, combine and shoot. See our Magician build.

Tips for playing the Spark
- 01Use the pace early. Attack your full-back before the cover arrives. A Spark that waits for support is just a slow Magician.
- 02Don’t sprint everything. Build slowly, then burst when the gap opens. Constant sprinting kills your touch.
- 03Aim your crosses. Crosses go into space more often in FC 27. Pick the spot your striker is running into, not the striker.
- 04Stay Explosive. Keep 182 cm or under, Agility at least 10 above Strength and Acceleration 80+. Check the label after every respec.
- 05Level to 10 for the Mastery. +1 Crossing and +1 Dribbling help every archetype you play.
- 06Track back when you lose it. Your role rating counts defensive work too, and long-term fatigue is back, so pick your sprints.
FAQ
What is the best height and weight for the Spark in FC 27?
5’7”–5’9” (170–175 cm) and 60–65 kg (132–143 lbs). That keeps you Explosive and maximizes Agility and Acceleration. The median Spark in the top 100 clubs is 173 cm.
What is the Spark’s Signature PlayStyle in FC 27?
Trickster, which upgrades to Trickster+ as you level. Rapid was a second signature in FC 26 but isn’t in FC 27, so most builds add it as a regular PlayStyle.
Which Spark Specialization is best?
Spark+ (Agility 92, Acceleration 90, Sprint Speed 90, about 571 AP) for a pace winger. Joker (about 397 AP) for crossers, and Ace (about 495 AP) for a goal-first winger.
Can the Spark play striker?
Yes, as a quick second striker. Dexerto lists a Spark+ striker build for runs in behind. As a lone striker, the Finisher is better: it scores 1.14 goals per game in the top 100 clubs against the Spark’s 0.67.
The Spark is FC 27’s pace winger. Build it short and light, unlock Spark+ even though it’s expensive, then put the rest into Dribbling and Ball Control. If your club crosses, Joker is the cheaper alternative. And if you’d rather cut inside and score, build a Magician instead.
