Picking a platform for Pro Clubs used to decide who you could play with. In EA FC 27 that matters less, because PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC share one crossplay pool. It still decides your frame rate, what you pay to play online, and where your Pro lives. Here’s how the four platforms with Clubs compare, and which one we’d pick.

Which platforms have Pro Clubs in FC 27?

FC 27 is sold on seven platforms, but The Grounds, the mode that now includes Clubs, is only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. EA, Sony and Microsoft all say so on their store and help pages. If you’re still on a PS4 or Xbox One, the free upgrade to the current-gen version (Dual Entitlement, within the same console family) is how you get Clubs. New to the mode? Start with The Grounds explained.

In the US the Standard Edition is $69.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99 on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, and the Switch 2 version is $69.99. Prices vary by region and sale, so compare locally.

PS5

  • Biggest player base. EA doesn’t publish platform numbers. An industry estimate from Alinea Analytics (6 October 2026) puts about 77% of copies sold on PlayStation, against 16% on Xbox and 7% on Steam. That estimate leaves out the EA app, Epic and Nintendo, so it understates PC, but PlayStation is clearly the largest group. That makes it the easiest place to find friends for a club.
  • DualSense support. The PlayStation Store lists vibration and trigger effects for FC 27, so the standard pad does more here than anywhere else. See our best controller guide if you want a pro pad.
  • PS5 Pro: the game is listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced, but EA hasn’t said what the Pro version improves. Gameplay runs at 60fps on both consoles.
  • Downsides: online play needs PS Plus, and there’s no 120fps mode.

Xbox Series X|S

The Xbox version is the same Clubs experience in the same crossplay pool as PS5 and PC. The Xbox Store lists 4K, HDR and “60 fps+”, but no 120fps mode. Online play needs Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. FC 27 itself isn’t in Game Pass: Ultimate includes EA Play, which gives you a 10-hour trial, not the full game. Series S runs the same modes at a lower resolution.

PC

  • Highest frame rate. EA’s PC spec sheet has a tier for 120fps at 1440p (RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT class GPU) and another for 80fps. Consoles stay at 60fps.
  • No paid online subscription. You need an EA account, plus Steam or Epic if you buy there.
  • Keyboard and mouse still work, with new WASD and Arrows layouts in FC 27, but almost every Clubs player uses a controller.
  • EA Javelin anti-cheat runs with the game. It needs Windows 10 (20H1) or newer and can block some RGB, overclocking and remapping tools. The Steam version also uses Denuvo anti-tamper. FC 27 doesn’t run on Steam Deck or Linux because of the anti-cheat; see FC 27 on Steam Deck.
  • PC problems this year: EA is investigating stutter, input delay and frame-rate drops on some PC hardware. If the game disconnects when you minimise it, see our alt-tab fix.
  • Cheating: most FC 27 hacking reports so far come from PC Ultimate Team. In Clubs there are only scattered player reports, and EA hasn’t said anything about bans.

Switch 2

Switch 2 is the only Nintendo platform with The Grounds and Clubs in FC 27. Nintendo Life and Vooks both report 30fps with no performance mode. More important for Clubs: Switch 2 has no crossplay, so you only meet other Switch 2 players. Reviewers struggled to fill full Clubs matches. It works for playing with friends who are all on Switch 2, but it’s the weakest place for competitive 11v11.

Crossplay: does your platform change who you play?

On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, no. All three share one pool for Clubs and The Grounds, and crossplay is on by default. There’s only one switch: crossplay on or off. You can’t choose “consoles only”. Turning it off to avoid PC players also cuts you off from the other console, and your queues get much longer. Our crossplay guide shows where the setting is and how to play with friends on other platforms.

Matches are placed by region and ping, not by platform, so no platform gets “better servers”. Party and voice chat go through EA Connect, which EA describes as cross-platform, so a mixed PS5, Xbox and PC club can talk in one party.

Your Pro stays on the platform you play on

This is the one to think about before you switch. EA’s FAQ says progress in Clubs is specific to the console you’re playing on and doesn’t transfer. Only Ultimate Team has cross-progression, and only within one console family (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Series). If you move from PS5 to PC, your archetype levels and Attribute Points start again. The AP and levelling guide shows how long that takes.

Is PC better for Pro Clubs?

On a strong PC you can play at 120fps, and some players feel that’s more responsive than 60fps on PS5 and Xbox, especially when they control “Any” position. EA has never said it gives an advantage, and nobody has measured it for FC 27. PC also has its own stutter and input-delay reports this year. Our view: frame rate is a small edge next to connection quality and a good controller. Choose PC if you already have the hardware, not for an edge.

Which platform should your club pick?

  1. 01
Mixed platforms are fine. PS5, Xbox and PC players can be in the same club and play League, Playoffs and friendlies together. Just keep crossplay on for everyone.
  2. 02
Pick where your friends are. With one shared pool, the platform your group already owns matters more than any spec. Your Pro doesn’t follow you to another platform.
  3. 03
Budget for online play. PS Plus or a Game Pass tier on console, nothing extra on PC. Over a year that adds up.
  4. 04
Competitive club? Check the rules. Some community leagues set rules on platforms or input devices. Ask before you sign up; see how to run a Pro Clubs league.
  5. 05
Avoid Switch 2 for 11v11. It’s a separate, small pool with no crossplay. Fine for a club of Switch 2 friends, hard for matchmaking.
