Is Pro Clubs Cross-Platform in EA FC 27? Crossplay Explained

For years the answer was no. Pro Clubs only got crossplay in FC 24. In EA FC 27, Clubs is part of The Grounds, and crossplay covers the whole thing: the 100-player hub, small-sided matches, Drop-In, Leagues and Playoffs.

Which platforms can play Clubs together in FC 27?

EA’s wording on EA Help is: “The Grounds supports cross-play across PC and Gen 5 platforms, except Nintendo Switch 2.” EA’s general crossplay article adds that “Nintendo Switch™ and Nintendo Switch™ 2 don’t support cross-play for FC”.

FC 27 is still sold on PS4, Xbox One and the original Switch, but every EA article about The Grounds carries the same footnote: the mode, including Clubs, is only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. So FC 27 has no “old-gen” Clubs pool. If you own the PS4 or Xbox One version, EA’s Dual Entitlement lets you upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series version of FC 27 within the same console family (EA lists conditions on its disclaimers page).

How to turn crossplay on or off

Crossplay is enabled by default the first time you play. To change it:

1. From the Main Menu, open EA Connect.
2. Open Social settings.
3. Select Cross-play, then Cross-play settings.
4. Under Cross-play Enabled, choose No to turn it off or Yes to turn it back on.

You can also reach the same screen via Main Menu → Customise → Online Settings → Matchmaking Options. You can’t change the setting during a match.

How to play Clubs with friends on other platforms

In FC 27 everything social goes through EA Connect, the overlay in the bottom-right of the main menu. If you’re new to the mode, start with how to play Pro Clubs with friends.

1. Add your friend. In EA Connect, go to Player search and enter their EA ID or platform username, then choose Add friend. Cross-platform friends show an EA logo next to their name.
2. Start a party. In the Party tab, choose Add players to party and invite them. Party chat (voice and text) also runs through EA Connect. The Grounds has no proximity chat.
3. Join the same Club. Once you’re both in the club, the Club tab in EA Connect lists your clubmates, so you can invite them to a party or add them as friends.
4. Meet in the Clubhouse. On the Grounds map, blue dots are players in your Club and pink dots are players in your party. Walk into the Clubhouse together for League and Playoff matches.

If you and a friend end up in different Grounds worlds, which often happens after Drop-In or Rush, just send or accept an invite through EA Connect to get back into the same world.

Cross-progression: does your Pro carry over?

No. EA’s FC 27 Dual Entitlement FAQ says progress in modes other than Ultimate Team, Clubs included, “will be specific to the console you are playing on and won’t transfer between consoles”. Cross-progression only exists in Ultimate Team, and only within one platform family (PS4 → PS5, Xbox One → Xbox Series X|S). A short history of crossplay in Pro Clubs

When we first wrote this page in March 2023, Pro Clubs still had no crossplay. FC 24 changed that, which is why some sites still run “crossplay comes to Clubs for the first time” headlines. That’s FC 24 news recycled, not new in FC 27.

Tips

If nobody in your party can connect at all, check EA’s server status before you change any settings.

   Leave crossplay on for Clubs. Turning it off shrinks your matchmaking pool and blocks cross-platform friends.

   Add friends by EA ID, not platform name. It’s the most reliable way to find a PC, PlayStation or Xbox friend in EA Connect.

   Re-invite after Drop-In or Rush. Those modes take you out of your Grounds world, and you may come back to a different one.

   Watch your ping with overseas friends. EA says a group spread across regions may not get the ideal server for everyone.

Is Pro Clubs crossplay in FC 27?

Yes. Clubs and The Grounds have crossplay between PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It’s on by default.

Can PS5 and Xbox play Pro Clubs together?

Yes. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can be in the same club and play Leagues, Playoffs, Drop-In and Club Tournaments together, as long as both have crossplay enabled.

Can Switch 2 play Pro Clubs with PS5 or PC?

No. Switch 2 has Clubs and The Grounds in FC 27, but EA says Switch and Switch 2 don’t support crossplay, so Switch 2 players only play with other Switch 2 players.

Can you play Pro Clubs on PS4 or Xbox One in FC 27?

No. The Grounds, including Clubs, is only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2.

Can I turn off crossplay only for Clubs?

No. There’s one crossplay setting, under EA Connect → Social settings → Cross-play, and it applies to every FC mode that supports crossplay.
